| Mes
amis (et surtout mes amies),
As
many of you may very well be aware, especially now after reading
the article in the Times of Acadiana Louisiana Heritage and
Gifts, owned by Mitch and Lisa Reed, is in dire need of help
to stay in business. This little music store, located on Gloria
Switch exit 2, about 1 mile east of I-49, is not just a store
to sell gifts and CDs, it is a refuge for music enthusiasts
and aspiring musicians who take music lessons, attend jam
sessions, and get together with friends once a week.
We are planning an upcoming event on SUNDAY, APRIL
2nd beginning at noon, where bands will play music,
we'll cook, drink, and be merry, and by doing so, help to
save an integral part of Cajun life in the present day.
Events
include:
*
Live music (see bands below)
*
Accordion & Fiddle contests
*
Raffle tickets for free stuff like music lessons, and
gift certificates for store merch
*
Face-painting for the kids
*
Food and special events
*
and so much more |
Please
pass this information to anyone who will be interested and
stay tuned for updates on this site.
